Haloze flora and fauna

Whichever trail through Haloze you choose, it will always lead through the forest and past vineyards, fields, meadows and orchards, which often feature the special habitats of certain species of plants. As you enjoy a relaxing walk in nature you’ll discover many magical views, and if you take the time to explore you’ll see plenty of wildlife, from delicate butterflies and small forest dwellers to larger animals. Eastern Haloze is recognised as an important ecological area due to its varied population of rare plants and animals, which in other places are endangered by the rapid transformation of the traditional cultural landscape into intensively exploited areas.
